Adverse Weather Procedures
We closely monitor the weather leading up to all scheduled appointments and make safety our top priority. If weather conditions require any changes or cancellations, you will not be left wondering about your appointment. We will notify you promptly of any changes to your schedule. Appointments cancelled due to weather take reschedule priority.
Level 1 Emergency
We do drive during Level 1 Snow Emergencies when conditions allow. Learning to drive safely in snow is an important part of becoming a confident and responsible driver. Students need the opportunity to learn how to adjust their speed, following distance, braking, steering, and overall driving habits to safely accommodate snowy and changing road conditions.
During a Level 1 Snow Emergency, we may adjust the location, route, and types of roads used during the drive based on current weather, road, and traffic conditions. Our goal is to provide students with valuable experience driving in winter conditions while keeping safety our top priority.
If conditions become unsafe, we will make the appropriate adjustments or cancel the drive and notify you as soon as possible.
Level Two or Higher Emergency
We do not conduct scheduled drives during a Level 2 or higher Snow Emergency. When a Level 2 or higher emergency is issued, scheduled drives will be canceled and rescheduled for a later date when conditions are safer.
Flood Watch/High Winds
We will continue scheduled drives during a Flood Watch or periods of high winds as long as conditions are determined to be safe for driving. Learning how to safely adjust to challenging weather conditions is an important part of becoming a confident and responsible driver. Students may learn how to adapt their speed, following distance, steering, and overall driving habits to safely navigate changing conditions.
Depending on the weather, road conditions, and traffic, we may adjust the location, route, or types of roads used during the drive. Our goal is to provide valuable experience in a variety of weather conditions while keeping safety our top priority.
If conditions worsen or become unsafe, we will cancel or adjust the drive and notify you as soon as possible.
